Revering the Lord Is the Beginning of Knowledge

Proverbs 1:7 The fear (morally revere) of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools (perverted) despise wisdom (skillful, have wisdom, wise, wit) and instruction (correction, discipline, doctrine, instruction, rebuke). (NKJV with Strong's Bible Concordance)

Revering the Lord also keeps us away from being foolish. It helps us accept both the Lord's instruction and discipline when we need it. He corrects us as a loving Father would. This passage can also be applied to our relationships mentors as well.
